Jonathan Keep uses computer software to drive a studio-based D.I.Y. 3-D printer that he has adapted to print in clay. Layer by layer the pots are printed out as a type of mechanical pottery coil building. After printing, the ceramic is fired and glazed in the normal way. His aim is to allow things to be as simple and as direct as possible. He also throws, coils, and uses slab and moulding techniques in a variety of clays, depending on scale and desired surface quality. He will be showing the 3-D printer in action. www.keep-art.co.uk
